Ning & Hobeze are providing two very different networks and yet they are very similar.


In this short report i will be talking to you about the difference between Ning, Hobeze and how Niche networks are starting to take over the general social networking scene.


Ning and Hobeze provide a service where individuals can set up a profile of their interest. These profiles enable registered members to actively communicate with others who have the same interests as them. So in essence members can have all the joys of a social network but yet chat with dedicated hobby/sport/interest enthusiasts.

However Ning enables individuals to set up their very own social network. From reviewing the site, in my opinion if someone has an interest in Kite surfing they will set up their own kite surfing network or become a fan of another kite surfing network. This has resulted in many kite surfing networks with very few members in each one. Ning is a very successful network but in my eyes i see this as a problem as i would like to connect with all kite surfers, e.g. one kite surfing network for everyone. Hobeze has achieved this which is what i will come onto now.
Hobeze as a successful network has bridged the gap between “Social” and meeting with like-minded individuals. Hobeze enables the members to communicate with other members in the locality or worldwide and thus creating new friends which current social networks fail to do, or are not focused on.

The great thing about hobeze over Ning is that hobeze has a network for every interest. E.g. one Kite surfing community, one golfing community, one fashion community. Anyone with an interest will register into the desired community, this in effect will create one huge network of each interest. This means that there are much more members registered to each specific network allowing everyone to communicate at ease.

Ning and Hobeze have created the perfect platforms for companies to advertise right down to the target markets meaning members have specific product content displayed at all times.
Companies on hobeze can set up featured profiles to showcase their products, this also enables companies with the opportunity to communicate direct with specific members related to their products.
Ning and Hobeze have created something very targeted as opposed to general social networks, the ending result will be something very valuable in time.
